Ressies Report Round 5
The first hand experience as told by me, LT
East v Casterton
This game was Played in Gods Country or Casterton as some call it where there was no sight of rain but a sight of a couple of bags being kicked.
East “NR” (non ressie) Beau Nunan snagged 8 after he finally bought a pair of kicking boots with him to a game and Ricky Killey playing that Old school Full Forward kicked 5…. when he is on; he’s on!
The game was reasonably tight early due to Easts wayward kicking at goal and Castertons experienced heads. But after half time the young and firing east team time ran over the cats in a physical game that should’ve been called off due to the heat policy (25 & sunny) which was not acceptable at that time of day. It might’ve been the heat that lead to ‘Sauce’ Gibbs and ‘Tickets’ Flamank getting a yellow card which was followed up by a red card to Sauce about 2 minutes after coming back on.. smart footy if you ask me 25 degree weather is no place for Sauce without sunscreen… He is pretty good off the field with a can though so he was right at home anyway!
It felt like Justin Carlin brought his own footy he had it that often while Jesse Plunkett another “NR” was busy for East.
Thomas Searle was busy taking kick ins for the Cats with East kicking alot of behinds and boy he didn’t miss to many, meanwhile I was somehow in the goal square for most of Castertons behinds kicked what a coincidence… (think of Sheezel Stat Padding).
The ME time Matchup- LT v
Kaden Humphries (6th best & 1 goal)
I “manned up” on Kaden Humphries which we may as well have shaken hands at the start and went opposite ends- he played a kick behind play for some of it and there was no way I was running that far up the ground and boy he made us hurt. I sat across half back and limped around like 79 year old who needs hip replacement after copping a knee to the stomach early (if I had a 6 pack it wouldn’t have hurt as much).
I think at the end of the day teams will be inaccurate at Casterton due to their 19th man Humpa on the sidelines and yelling at me to get up after copping a knock, for me he was best on again… where’s scooter when we need him…
UPCOMING GAME
East Roll on to West and Casterton try and take down the demons this week coming- get there early and watch the main game!
Anyway it’s time to get ready for training- arrive early, get a rub, strapping, roll the back out, miss the warm up and have a kick!
